The Promenade Concept - Tirana
The Promenade Concept
"Redefining Promenades: Where Architecture Meets Nature"
Location: Tirana, Albania
The context is located in a key point of the city of Tirana. In the southern part is the entrance to the park of the artificial lake of Tirana. It is the largest park of the capital, built on this site in the 1950s. The artificial lake is suitable for both fishing and swimming. It is also an attraction and a key point for the city, which over the years has presented problems for its maintenance and mass construction.
The concept of the promenade is about creating a common space where it serves as a "gateway" to the park. This striking red structure features a network of elevated promenades connecting several modern, cubic buildings seamlessly integrated into a lush forest environment. The bold red walkways create dynamic geometric patterns that contrast vividly with the natural greenery, offering an innovative blend of architecture and nature.
The whole promenade adapts to the terrain and integrates with the context without damaging it. With the red color which makes it distinctive, with clean lines at different levels and with its mini squares and frames, the Promenade aims to serve as a fusion between space and context. Also serve as a promenade where people socialize among themselves.
