The AncientFaces team is committed to fostering a community that encourages collaboration in crafting accurate portraits of individuals and places from our past. Their mission is to compile biographies for every person in recent history. My task involved overhauling AncientFaces' brand identity, along with offering creative direction for their online and video presence, encompassing elements like colors, typography, design, and styling. My objective was to craft an iconic symbol that is easily identifiable, memorable, and suitable for the company's distinct name. After exploring numerous design concepts, I was drawn to a pyramid-like 'A' (a subtle nod to the term 'ancient') enclosing a silhouette profile. The negative space within the pyramid, formed by the facial cutout, lends the logo the appearance of an 'A', which can accompany the logotype or function independently as an avatar. This adaptability ensures the logo remains clear and recognizable, whether displayed on a large billboard or a small Facebook profile picture. In developing the brand's style guide, I curated a color palette and selected typography that visually embodies AncientFaces' core personality traits of warmth, collaboration, and trustworthiness.
