Entry for "The Napolitaner"

This is an illustration I created to participate in The Napolitaner , a project launched in 2022 with the aim of representing Naples through the illustrated covers of a magazine that doesn't exist. The depiction of Naples through illustrations is also a tribute to the American magazine "The New Yorker," which has celebrated New York and America with its covers, becoming a solid reference in the illustration world.

Although my illustration was not accepted to be part of the project, it represented a great challenge for me to showcase some aspects of my culture that are often unknown to tourists, such as the legend of the Witch of Port'Alba, which you can read HERE. The legend tells of a beautiful woman who, after losing her love, transforms into a monstrous witch.
