Waking the Unseen
The derrick creaked, a lonely sentinel on the endless ocean. Sarah gripped the railing, the rhythmic groan a counterpoint to the pounding in her chest. Below, the water churned, an unnatural darkness blooming beneath the oil rig. A bioluminescent tentacle, thick as a pipeline, snaked towards the surface. Sarah slammed the alarm, a desperate prayer against the rising tide of the awakened kraken.
