A Visual Journey Through India is an illustration project that captures diverse and vibrant faces. From the bustling streets of Mumbai and Delhi to the quiet towns of Meerut, Roorkee and Dehradun, I've observed and sketched people from all walks of life.

Each portrait is unique and has a personal glimpse into the individual's story, from the weary street vendor to the playful teenager. I've paid special attention to the characters' faces, capturing their unique features and expressions. I was drawn to the unique characteristics of each individual, from their expressive eyes, hairstyles, beards and skin to their distinctive style and accessories. Each face told a story of its own - of joy, sorrow, struggle, and resilience.

I captured these stories in my sketches, focusing on the eyes, which are the windows to the soul. Traditional Indian paintings inspire the long, bright eyes of characters, and the focus on their faces reveals their individuality and personality.

The portraits are digital transformations of sketches done in Adobe Illustrator, and they retain the warmth and spontaneity of the original drawings. 

The main objective behind this self-initiated project was to develop my observation skills.
