16/32 – Houston Herd Uniforms
Behind the Stitches
Resurrecting an older set from 2018, the Houston Herd charge forward with a modern take on a classic design.
Right out of the gate – the most memorable part of the uniform set receives a facelift. The horned helmet now incorporates a redrawn bull horn graphic in profile that enhances redability from afar. The shell and facemask are black, and the front bumper features the "horned H" while the back displays the "Houston" location wordmark.
The jerseys bring back the yoke stripes – a look unique to the UFL landscape. The home top is black with orange stripes while the away set maintains the black collar and orange stripes with a white base. The orange set, worn in the fall when the heat of the summer lingers in Houston, has a black collar and black stripes.
The pants further implement the striping mechanic – orange stripes on white pants, orange stripes on black pants, and black stripes on orange pants. The striping panel terminates at an angle on the hip where the primary bull logo is featured.
Houston has a customized, slab serif athletic block jersey number set with emphasized joints and chiseled edges that relate to Western saloon-style typography. In addition to the traditional chest and back locations, a squat small-caps version of the number set is incorporated on the sleeve caps of the jersey tops.
These mockups were made with a modified and retextured Madden 20 on PC. The in-game screenshots were then used to create a composition in Photoshop.
