Desiderata poem by Max Ehrmann
What this is about
I looked up a word I remember talking about in graduate school with our professor Erik Stolterman. He talked about how desiderata means the wishes of someone that may be unexpressed. We learned this concept in design school because when creating designs for users or clients, there is often a plethora of unexpressed desires. To find out what they are really looking to accomplish is up to us to figure out. Often times, users, clients, or people we're working with don't have the words to describe what it is they want. Or maybe they also don't know.
From Desiderata.com: 'The word desiderata means “things that are desired.”. Max Ehrmann said he wrote it for himself, “because it counsels those virtues I felt most in need of.”'
Today I am procrastinating working on my portfolio and ended up making this. The below image shows how I attempted to use the golden ratio in spacing.
