Basic Rights T-Shirt Competition

RIP Basic Rights

Right after the pandemic started in 2020, Basic Rights, a London-based clothing brand that made elevated essentials for men, held a graphic tee competition. The premise of the competition was to compliment their already existing line and have proceeds from the shirts go towards The Shoreditch Trust.

I happened to win 2 out of 3 t-shirt design slots and had these 2 designs chosen. Both the "Keep Going" and "Adore & Endure" concepts were inspired from murals in the Shoreditch district of London while also echoing positive messages during the pandemic.

Just last year, Basic Rights shut down due to Freddie Cowan (of the band The Scenarios) moving to Mexico. Their menswear was simply superb and I still hunt for their pieces to this day. They outfitted the likes of Donald Glover, Andrew Garfield, and Ryan Reynolds and perhaps brought the camp collar shirt back from the grave to where you see it today.
