Stepped Workflow Web App
Thousands of file cabinets are about to become empty.
I'm in the middle of helping a client turn all of their paper workflows digital. And boy is it a MASSIVE lift. Call me crazy, but there is something really fun about making blasé stepped workflows BEAUTIFUL.
Projects like this aren't just about an intuitive UX, there are so many other moving pieces, like:
→ Architecting databases to efficiently hold and serve up data
→ Write business logic to catch errors, omissions, and tons of other edge cases.
→ Retrain employees on processes they can currently do with their eyes closed
→ Get buy in across all departments
→ Incrementally roll out in a way that limits the risk of burning the entire building down
It's hard, but meaningful work.
It may seem like boring work to many, but I love unwiring the complexity of it all.
And ultimately it results in the ability for their employees to provide better value, faster, to all of their customers. And for the business, they can make better decisions with data right at their fingertips. Less things will fall through the cracks. Future employees will be better trained. And more!
