Brenin - Medieval-Inspired Font - Out Now!

A medieval-inspired typeface for a modern age.

Brenin is a highly stylised, all-uppercase display typeface, embracing the unique forms of medieval alphabets, Lombardic Capitals and Compressed Uncial styles, and infusing them with a contemporary serif style.

Named after the Welsh word for 'King', this font conjures up imposing characters from the old world, transfigured into new forms, and includes a host of alternates and discretionary ligatures to switch up the style.

Features 347 distinctly crafted characters, including 124 Alternates and 37 Discretionary Ligatures, perfect for your fantasy, medieval or Celtic-themed projects, or anything that needs an ancient feel with a modern edge. There are even alternates for the colon (:) character, which mimic the dotted separators often found in medieval stone-carved text.

This font has been created with the Welsh language in mind, featuring Welsh digraphs (characters in the Welsh alphabet which combine two letters) and accented letters commonly found in the Welsh language. But it’s not just limited to Welsh, as it features a full Latin character set, additional accented characters not always found in Latin character sets (such as Ć, Č, Š, Đ, Ž) along with alternates for all accented characters.
