Xpress - Ticket Booking Dashboard

Overview:

Xpress is a web application designed to make it easy for users to buy tickets for airplanes, trains, boats, buses and hotels. It integrates various transportation and accommodation services in one platform, providing users with an efficient and convenient experience in planning their trips.

Problems:

  • Difficulty in Filtering Aircraft Selection, Price, and Facilities: Users experience difficulties in filtering flight options based on important criteria such as ticket price, amenities provided (e.g., luggage, food, entertainment), and other preferences. Unintuitive or limited filter features cause frustration for users who want to find options that suit their needs and budget.

  • Doesn't Show Estimated Time to Destination: Other apps do not show the estimated time to destination for the various modes of transportation selected by the user. This information is crucial for users to plan their trips more effectively and make better decisions.

  • Unable to Purchase Round-Trip Tickets at Once: Users fret about not being able to purchase round-trip tickets in a single transaction. Users have to purchase their outbound and return tickets separately, which is inefficient and increases the complexity of the booking process.

How we solved the problems:

  • Developed more sophisticated and intuitive search filters: Allowed users to filter results by price, amenities, departure and arrival times, airline, and flight duration. Provided an easy-to-use user interface with clear and accessible filter options.

  • Integrates a feature that displays the estimated time to destination: For each transportation option displayed. Provide additional information such as transit time and total travel time to help users make better decisions.

  • Implement a round-trip ticket booking feature: Allows users to select and purchase tickets for both the outbound and return trips in a single transaction. Provide flexible options to select different dates and times for return tickets, as well as display the total price for both trips.

Result:

By improving the search filter feature, displaying estimated time to destination, and allowing the purchase of round-trip tickets in one transaction, Xpress can provide better service and increase user satisfaction. Implementing the right solution will help Xpress become the first choice for users in planning and booking their trips.
