Short Graphic novel: 'touched by the angels'

A Monster from Utrecht

Comic collective ‘De Inktpot’ asked me to contribute to a special anniversary edition celebrating their 20th year. The theme was a monster story set somewhere in Utrecht, allowing each artist to choose a specific location or building for their narrative. I chose the Vlampijp Ateliers.

The Lonely Madman at the Atelier

I spent a lot of time developing the story, experimenting with different approaches. I started with a storyboard, then used cards with individual fragments and situations written on them. Eventually, as I combined all these elements, the story began to take on a life of its own. This is what I love about the creative process—how all the separate pieces eventually come together in a perfect way.
