Coillte are the biggest forestry company in Ireland and have aspirations of becoming one of the biggest forestry companies in Europe. Their current website however did not reflect this vision and people did not fully understand the type and breath of work that they do.

Strategy

The information architecture was restructured to highlight and group the relevant content for their two key user groups, the general public and businesses.

The site structure was designed with a 4 level system causing, the deepest pages on the site to be a maximum of 3 clicks away.

The pages were then structured to encourage discoverability between the two types of content, with each section having an 80/20 split of content, weighted towards the section the user is in. This was done to encourage people to learn about everything that Coillte does.
