Shipment Tracking Dashboard
The goal of designing the Shipment Tracking dashboard was to create a user-friendly and visually appealing interface that allows users to manage and track shipments efficiently. We conducted extensive user research to understand the needs of logistics managers, account executives, and couriers, who each require different real-time updates and detailed shipment information. I chose a dark theme with high-contrast elements to reduce eye strain during long periods of use and to give the dashboard a modern, sleek look. High-contrast elements, like bright buttons and indicators, highlight key actions and data points, making them easily accessible. The data is organized into sections such as Total Shipments, Active Tracking, Delivered Shipments, and Tracking History, allowing users to quickly locate and interpret the information they need.
Interactive elements with brightly colored buttons for actions like "Create shipment" and "Download Report" strategically placed for quick access. Filters and sorting options let users customize their view according to specific needs, ensuring efficient shipment management. The tracking history section provides detailed information about each shipment’s journey, with a map that visually represents the route for a clear and intuitive understanding of the shipment's status and location. Visual indicators, like color-coded status labels and trend arrows, convey critical information at a glance. The user profile section, displaying the user’s name and role, personalizes the experience, while customization options allow users to tailor the dashboard to their preferences. Multiple rounds of user testing helped refine the design, addressing challenges like data overload and ensuring real-time updates without compromising performance.
