Good Hope Farms Gala Brand Identity
Rest Stop Ministries, Inc. is a not-for-profit 501-(c)3 faith-based organization in the Nashville, TN, area dedicated to comprehensively restoring female survivors of domestic sex trafficking. They follow a housing-first model and provide holistic survivor-centered, trauma-informed care in a long-term residential community.
Goals
Rest Stop Ministries needed an identity system for their upcoming fundraising gala. The identity was to be used across social media, environmental elements, websites, print materials, and merch.
Process
The GDCO has worked with the team over at Rest Stop several times. One thing about them, they always seem to know the exact direction they want to go, and this project was no different. They knew they wanted a rustic look with woodcut-inspired lettering and organic textures. They sent over an image of a sign they found under a pile of old junk in one of the barns on the property. They knew when they saw the sign that it had to be the theme of their fundraising efforts for the next few years.
Aside from the Revival sign, our inspiration sparked from seeing prints from the legendary Hatch Show Prints and from the barn they were restored on the property to create more living space for the rescued women.
We created a brush that would allow us to maintain the organic line work across the identity. We used that brush to create the barn icon and the radiating sunrise.
We used scrap wood to create the perfectly imperfect oval that can contain several of the icons. We wanted to make a robust ecosystem of icons and logo options for invites, socials, etc.
Symbolism
Symbolism was a significant motivator for many of this project's elements Using organic shapes shows that imperfect situations can become beautiful under the right circumstances. The sunrise and colors were chosen to convey the hope Rest Stop bring to the lives they touch.
