Cherry Entry Table

This traditional cherry shaker entry table design is enhanced with unique aesthetic elements to elevate its visual appeal. The tabletop features a back bevel, allowing for a more substantial top without making the design heavy.

The drawers feature dovetail joinery and are fitted with maple pulls inspired by the style of James Krenov. These pulls have a subtle center bulge with tapered ends, adding visual interest. They are mounted to the drawer fronts on walnut blocks, strikingly contrasting with the lighter wood. In subsequent designs, ambrosia maple was used for the pulls to allow them to age harmoniously with the cherry wood. The feet are accented with walnut veneer, a nod to Federal style, yet rendered with restraint. This minimalist touch enhances the table’s overall Shaker-inspired aesthetic.
