In today's age of fragmented entertainment, movie lovers struggle to find a central hub for all their film-related needs. Discovering new movies, keeping track of what you've watched, and connecting with fellow cinephiles can feel like a scattered experience.

• Crafting a mobile application specifically for cinéphiles, by fusing user-friendly design and solid functionality to improve the quality of interaction.

Double Diamond

By applying the Double Diamond method, I navigated a clear path from problem identification to solution implementation, ensuring a thorough and effective design process.

Competitive Analysis

Through a comprehensive competitive analysis, I examined leading platforms such as Mubi, IMDb, and Letterboxd, identifying their strengths and weaknesses to create a new application that provides the best features while addressing existing pain points, resulting in an exceptional user experience.

Style Guide

Color

I went for a dark theme to bring a touch of luxury, while splashes of red and yellow to add modern sophistication, giving the app a cinematic feel that's both minimalist and engaging.

Typography

Montserrat typeface brings several benefits to this application:

• Modernity: Its clean and geometric design reflects contemporary aesthetics.

• Readability: Montserrat is highly legible, ensuring that users can easily read and navigate through the app's content without strain.

• Versatility: It offers a range of weights and styles, providing flexibility in design and allowing for differentiation in hierarchy and emphasis.

• Web-Friendly: Montserrat is optimized for digital use, making it an excellent choice for applications and websites, ensuring consistency across different devices and screen sizes.

Iconography

This application is powered by modern, engaging, and minimalist icons from Blank UI, enhancing its visual appeal and user experience.

Tools

Using tools like Figma, ProtoPie, Photoshop, Adobe Premiere Pro, Montserrat typeface, and Blank Icons, I created an immersive cinematic experience that combines elegance and innovation.

Wireframes

Using wireframes, I made sure the design process was efficient and nothing was left behind, paying attention to every detail to create a smooth user experience.

User Interface

I prioritized providing an exceptional user experience by carefully crafting every design decision to make sure users have a smooth and easy journey through the application. I focused on minimalism and simplicity, embracing the idea that less is more. The interface reflects this by being elegant and clear, creating a distraction-free environment for users to fully enjoy their passion for cinema.

Movie Suggestions

Implemented a movie suggestion system, tailoring recommendations based on users' watching history and their friends' preferences, ensuring a personalized and enriching movie-watching experience.

Movie Explore, Rating, Writing Reviews & Logging Movies
