The Assignment

Complete many of the steps of a user experience process - research the user and subject, explore design options, create a working prototype of the app concept, test and iterate the design, and present the work in the form of a case study.

Requirements

Design a wellness app with the app structures of onboarding, dashboard, activity logging, settings, and profile area. App must also include rewards and notifications to motivate behavior, dynamic interface to encourage engagement, social/community engagement, and integration with capabilities of phone.

Original Concept

A simple user interfaced app that tracks the amount of water a person drinks. does not give an option for other drinks that include caffeine and sugar intakes. has tabs for home, friends, achievements, and settings. the home tab would consist of where you would log your water intake with a simple water droplet graphic that fills when you input your intake along with the percentage compared to your goal. the friends tab would consist of where you can see your other friends on the app and challenges to do with friends. the next tab would have achievements that the user can earn. the last tab would have settings that include to link to the ios health app (for ios), changing account information, notification preferences for reminders, and changing any information that has changed in the onboarding process (ie. weight or location).

Revised Concept

A simple user interfaced app that tracks a persons hydration throughout the day. It only gives the option to track water. Has tabs for home, profile, achievements, and settings. The home tab consists of where you would see your progress for the day. Logging is available on every page. Within the profile tab that is where friends can be accessed along with challenges between friends (the social media aspect of the application). Changing any account information is within the profile tab under edit profile. This includes any personal information from the onboarding. The settings consist of simple settings such as rating, frequently asked questions, general settings, contacting the company for any problems, and reminders (so the user can make the reminders personal if they chose to).
