Patient Healthcare Tracking Dashboard
In this shot, I present a patient healthcare tracking web dashboard designed for doctors, utilizing design heuristics and lean design thinking principles. I've created this solution that has a potential to lead better health outcomes as it empowers doctors to deliver superior care by streamlining patient data management, fostering data-driven decision-making, personalize treatment plans and ultimately promoting proactive patient health monitoring.
Understanding the Challenge :-
Traditionally, managing patient health data can be time-consuming and fragmented. Doctors often juggle multiple sources of information, hindering their ability to gain a holistic view of a patient's health.
Application Of Lean Design Thinking :-
1. User Research & Empathy
I conducted interviews with doctors & SMEs to understand their pain points regarding patient data management.
Key findings revealed a need for a single, centralized platform displaying all relevant patient information, including medical history, health vitals, active programs, and adherence metrics.
2. Defining the Need
Based on user research, I defined the core functionalities of the patient healthcare tracking web dashboard as mentioned below;
Comprehensive Patient View: Present all critical patient information in a single, carded dashboard. This includes:
Active Programs: Track ongoing dietary and physical activity programs prescribed to the patient.
Log of Doc Remarks: Maintain a clear log of past doctor notes and recommendations.
Reports & Medications: Easy access to all medical reports and prescribed medications.
Past Illness: View a detailed record of the patient's medical history, including past illnesses.
Medical Vitals: Monitor essential vitals like BMI, height, and weight.
Questionnaire Responses: Analyze patient responses to lifestyle questionnaires, providing insights into sleep habits, physical activity levels, diet, and medical conditions.
Adherence Metrics: Track adherence to prescribed programs and medications. This includes completion rates, progress indicators, and overall health status (severe/moderate/healthy) based on sleep, physical activity, diet, HbA1c, glucose, and insulin levels etc.
Data Visualization: Utilize interactive charts and graphs to visually represent patient health data, facilitating trend identification and insightful analysis.
Customizable Dashboard: Empower doctors to personalize the dashboard layout by rearranging widgets to prioritize the information most relevant to each patient.
Advanced Filtering: Efficiently filter patient data based on specific criteria, allowing doctors to focus on particular health aspects or medical history.
Patient Alerts: Receive proactive in-app notifications regarding patients requiring immediate attention based on adherence metrics or other health indicators. This empowers doctors to prioritize care delivery and address urgent needs.
3. Prototyping & Iterating Concepts
I created low-fidelity prototypes, focusing on clear information architecture, user-friendly navigation, and intuitive data visualization.
User testing with doctors provided valuable feedback, which helped refine the design for optimal usability post which I accordingly added below mentioned features;
Improved Efficiency: Manage patient health data from a single platform, saving valuable time.
Enhanced Patient Care: Deliver personalized treatment plans based on a comprehensive view of patient health.
Data-Driven Decisions: Make informed decisions by analyzing visualized patient data trends.
Proactive Patient Monitoring: React quickly to potential health concerns with in-app alerts.
Improved Communication: Gain a deeper understanding of patients through their program adherence and questionnaire responses.
