Sociologist and photographer Lewis W. Hine traveled through the east of America on behalf of the National Child Labor Committee. Its mission was to open America's eyes to the grievances of industrial child labor.This picture was taken during a short stopover on his journey in an unnamed location in North Carolina.Even today children are robbed of their childhood by working as cheap labor for the greed of unscrupulous business people.In memory of Lewis Wickes Hine. A tireless campaigner for children's rights.
