Aircraft Pricing, Cashflow and Maintenance Reports
I have worked within the Aerlytix Suite on an interesting side project from my normal product design duties. In this instance, I had to develop reporting system for the frontend of the web application. These report came as a highly requested feature for our set of products and while the challenges where quite on the development side of things, which I have to undertake, I loved the design process and visualization discovery process.
It was a successful feature and in spite a few hiccups through its implementation but we gain a number of happy clients as a result which additionally became an attractive selling point for our product offering.
Through out the implementation phase in JSReport, I needed to simplify (and compromise) a little on the styling given that along the aspect of the data source, data came 'null' or empty depending on the usages, so I have to make the templates as flexible as possible to suit the many scenarios and content length.
At a personal level there was a high level of adaptation and learning—learn the ins and outs of JSReport and its architecture, Javascript, Handlebars.js, Highcharts + HTML and CSS and how I need to provide and adapt the data, and other quirks.
