A Cosmic Collaboration

This cover art was created for the single "Supernova" by musicians Audrey Callahan and Michael Wilbur, available on Spotify and other streaming platforms.

Audrey & Michael came to me with a vision of a glowing space scene that featured both of them (and Michael's sax!), to reflect the 'explosive nature' of a supernova, which ties into the lyrics of the song.

Design Concept

Beyond simply illustrating their idea, I worked closely with them to shape a design that reflected both their personal identities as well as the larger-than-life themes of their music.

We came up with a visual narrative that embodied empowerment & self-discovery, as well as being strategically eye-catching for digital platforms, encouraging listeners to click on and listen to the song.

Reflections

One of the most rewarding aspects of this project was getting to work on a design based on the theme of reclaiming personal strength.

It’s always such a fulfilling experience to translate musicians' vision into visual art, especially with projects that carry deep meaning like this one.
