Redesigned Book Covers- Senior Thesis 2021

This was my Senior Thesis project for my BA at Oakland University. This project was a semester long experience that had me complete the project from conceptualization to its completion in December of 2021.

Project Statement:

This semester, I will investigate how design can help increase the number of sales of a book with a redesign of the book’s cover. This project will impact book publishers and people who read books in the fiction genre. This project is important because the cover of a book is the first impression that the reader sees when purchasing a book, and if that cover is poorly designed, they won’t buy it.

I picked some of the unpopular books on Amazon that I could find. I felt that these particular books needed a bit of a cover makeover compared to other books within the Fiction genre listed on Amazon. This project was fun to do and it helped me learn how to enhance my book designing craft. This also will help me going forward with designing the final covers for my book series, The Mythos of Down Below, in the near future.
