Human Silhouette
Had a bit of time to play with the Cavalry app again: a mix of voxel distribution duplicator with some oscillations on the size + path offset with point duplicator and stagger. I love the experimental quality of working in Cavalry.
Sure, I usually have an idea, some visual in mind that I want to achieve but often what comes in the process is totally different, unexpected, and fun. On the technical side, it’s a bit of a steep learning curve, especially if you are coming from AE where things just work differently in many ways.
But, hey, learning new stuff isn’t supposed to be easy.
And finally, some of my favorite features so far:
1. Working with color palettes, using color arrays. It’s so simple and so efficient!
2. Duplicator. Probably the thing I use the most.
3. Copy and paste SVG straight into the app, 100% love it
4. Built-in Dynamic engine, I’m still pretty green with this one but it looks super fun to explore.
5. Attribute Editor and generally the node-based workflow (difficult to get it at first but it works its magic)
Have you tried it yet? What are your thoughts? And what are your favorite things about it?
