Mini Case Study: Recipe Web Site (Mobile)

Hi everyone!

I'm excited to share that I've completed mission #UIX101 #040, where I designed a recipe website that allows users to access recipes in written, audio, and video formats. I also conducted a mini case study as part of this project.

Goal:

To create a website with a wide range of recipes in written, audio, and video formats, produced by a professional team, and accessible to users with varying cooking skills.

User:

Individuals with different cooking skill levels who are interested in exploring new recipes and cooking delicious meals.

User Needs:

  • Ability to access recipes based on user preference (written, audio, video).

  • Clear, concise, and practical presentation of recipes.

  • Easy navigation of ingredients and cooking steps.

User Experience Enhancements:

  • Mobile-first approach: Considering that carrying a laptop is not always practical, the pages were designed with a mobile-first approach. Users who forget a step in the recipe while cooking don't want to bother opening a computer, and not every user has a laptop.

  • Simple and easy-to-use interface: The interface was designed to be simple and as easy to use as possible.

  • Step-by-step visuals: Recipes are supported by step-by-step visuals to enhance user comprehension.

  • Saving, liking, and sharing: Users can save, like, and share recipes they find interesting or useful.

  • Professional audio and video narration: All recipes come with professional audio and video narrations, allowing users to listen to the entire recipe or specific sections at their convenience.

  • Difficulty level indicator: The difficulty level of each recipe is indicated using a chef hat scale, with one to three hats representing easy, medium, and hard difficulty levels, respectively.

  • User rating system: Each recipe's user rating is displayed next to the recipe title, providing additional information about its popularity.
