Day 009 • Music Player

Hey friends and followers,

This is day 9 of the DailyUI Challenge.

My subject for the day was Music Player.

I was looking forward to when this prompt would show up in my inbox. At this point in time I do not feel a perfect music player exists. Apple has the integration, but lacks in refinement. Spotify has the features but sometimes lets their design get in the way. In my opinion all of them have either too many features or not enough.

My dream Music Player would consist of the following:

• Minimal design to bring more focus to the content.
• Strip away unnecessary "features".
• Universal Search - Sign in to all of your respected music services so you can search through all of them to find any music your heart desires; yes even your precious playlist on Soundcloud you've spent who knows how long curating. (e.g. - Apple TV's Universal Search)

Some important UX elements.

• Common actions are operated through the Voice Command feature on the main screen. This can include but is not limited to Shuffle, Repeat, Play More Like This, Share to Twitter, the list goes on and on.
• To access the album's trackless tap and hold on the album artwork. Swipe the list down to return.
• Tap the track name once to display the 5 star rating system.
• Swiping horizontally will scrub the music.
• Swiping vertically will change the volume.
• Shake to shuffle the current album, playlist or station.

My head is racing a million miles a minute thinking of the possibilities if there were no restrictions in development.

I invite you all to rebound this shot and create your own visual exercise.

See you tomorrow!
