Daily UI challenge 001- Sign-up page

My approach to designing this sign-up pag

As I started designing a user-friendly sign-up page, my initial step was to search the internet for examples. Being a junior UX/UI designer, I sought a sign-up page with a UI that, in my opinion, was good and could be replicated in Figma.

Then I delved into two articles: Sign Me Up! — Designing successful sign-up pages | by Vasudha Mamtani | UX Collective (uxdesign.cc) and 12 Best Practices for Sign-Up and Login Page Design (uxdworld.com)

However, while I was reading them, one thing became clear to me — I wasn't even aware that I didn't know what a sign-up page could mean to users — a frustrating experience. The process of registration and logging on to a site or app is the first interaction that users could have with a product, so it's important to make it as easy as possible.

That's why Ask for only that is needed was the second tip in the first article, which suprised me a little. I thought I deserved the first place, but placement in the flow was the first. It emphasized that placement of the sign-up page should be a well-thought decision. "If we ask a user to sign up at the very beginning, before they’ve even had a preview of what the application does or how it looks, there is a very good chance that they’d leave immediately." Well, that's imporant thing to remember!

The article offered other valuable design tips, emphasizing the importance of trust-building through a smooth user experience.

The second article was equally enlightening, providing a wealth of best practices. One standout suggestion was to ditch the password confirmation field in favour of a "Show Password" option, streamlining the process.

Additionally, the article stressed the need for instant input validation and seamless navigation between sign-up and login options for both new and existing users. One more tip that caught my attention was: prioritizing email or phone number over usernames to simplify the sign up and later login process, encouraging repeat visits.

Both articles mentioned the importance of allowing users one-click registration with social media accounts.

Armed with these insights, I did my best to design a sign-up page that won't frustrate users and make them quit their experience with a product.
