walking through core flows and involving multiple stakeholders early on in the (divergent) design process allows us to capture and action that feedback from multiple perspectives. there are typically a few rounds of this, from the early definition of requirements & flows, to thumbnails, wires, and then comps.
exploring higher-fidelity design options using paper prototypes and printed comps is still one of the most effective ways of communicating and tracking feedback. tools like invision come close, though those comment threads can get a bit unwieldy. can never beat getting everyone in a room and talking it through.
