Navigating Precision: A Google Maps UI Clone
For this meticulous UI/UX project, I embarked on recreating the quintessential Google Maps experience. This endeavour involved cloning three distinct pages from the app, focusing not just on the visual elements but the subtle micro-interactions that make the user journey intuitive and engaging. The process began with an in-depth UX design, carefully placing placeholders for texts, icons, and other interactive elements.
Moving to the UI, every icon was crafted individually, adhering to the best practices in design processes. Utilizing the precision of Bezier curves ensured the fidelity of these icons to the original design intent, capturing the essence of Google Maps’ iconic interface. The export process was handled with finesse, choosing formats that preserved the high-quality imagery for optimal presentation.
All of this creative assembly took place in Figma, a designer's playground, allowing for fluid ideation to final execution. The project served as an exercise in attention to detail, as I navigated through the layers of interface design, from conceptualization to the final touches that align with the seamless user experiences associated with top-tier apps.
Additionally, this project wasn't just a static UI clone; it involved creating a dynamic prototype that mimicked the app's transitions and interactive features. This prototyping phase was crucial in bringing the cloned interfaces to life, showcasing how users would experience the flow between different app states and the overall interactivity that one expects from Google Maps.
