Morker Flygning
Santa Lucia, also known as St. Lucy’s Day, is a celebration that marks the return of hope and light from the darkest time of the year. It is celebrated every year on December 13th by those who live in Sweden, Norway, and and the Swedish Speaking areas of Finland and falls in line with the winter solstice. From this day on, the sun will be returning and the daylight hours will be growing longer. It is a time of celebration, warmth, and community among friends and family. It also marks the start of celebrating the Christmas season. The name “Mörker Flygning” is Swedish for “Darkness Flight,” which shows what Santa Lucia is about. Mörker Flygning is a traditional Swedish Glögg served during this holiday, and captures the traditions of the Swedish heritage through patterns and the story of light through the logo. This was a dual- language branding and packaging project where I had the opportunity to dive into my Swedish family heritage and learn more about the tradition of Santa Lucia and how it's celebrated.
