Redesigning the Payment Page of Josh Talks English Speaking App

Introduction

In my role as a Product Designer at Josh Talks, I undertook the redesign of the Payment page for the English Speaking app. This case study outlines the challenges faced, the design process followed, and the improvements achieved through the redesign.

Background

The Payment page is a crucial part of the app, as it is where users complete transactions to access premium features. The previous design had several issues, including a complex layout, unclear navigation, and lack of visual hierarchy.

Goals

  1. Simplify the payment process to improve user experience.

  2. Increase conversion rate by making the payment options more visible and intuitive.

  3. Enhance the visual appeal of the page to align with the app’s overall design language.

Process

Research & Analysis

  • Conducted user interviews and gathered feedback on the existing Payment page.

  • Analyzed user behavior using heatmaps and session recordings.

  • Studied competitor payment pages to identify best practices.

Design

  • Created wireframes and prototypes based on user feedback and research insights.

  • Iterated designs based on internal reviews and feedback from stakeholders.

  • Developed a design system to maintain consistency across the app.

Implementation

  • Collaborated with developers to ensure smooth implementation of the new design.

  • Conducted A/B testing to compare the performance of the old and new designs.

  • Rolled out the new Payment page design to all users.

Results

  • Simplified layout and improved visual hierarchy led to significant increase in conversion rate.

Conclusion
