Tipsy Tripping

Tipsy Tripping was a collaborative project between the Tyler School of Art and Architecture and Ecovative. Ecovative is a company that provides sustainable alternatives to plastics and polystyrene foams for packaging, building materials, and other applications by using mushroom technology. With this project, we used the idea of mushroom mycelium packaging for shipping wine bottles as a promotional gift for the company to send to clients.

When I first heard of the idea of a mushroom wine company, I thought of fairies and elves living in mushrooms. Therefore, I created a wine company that these mushroom residents could run. To do this, I wanted the labels to look old, slightly feminine, and mythical. I wanted the illustration to carry this on while being the focus of the label. I wanted it to grab the attention of buyers passing by with the level of detail and unique look compared to other typical wine bottles.
