Music-Shaped Self | Crash '22
Reflecting on my journey through music and art, I'm proud to share the final installment of my “Music-Shaped Self” series with you all. The fourth and last self-portrait, titled “Crash ’22”, showcases my personal growth and development as a queer artist. The piece celebrates the music that defined my 2022, the year when I began this series.
Drawing inspiration from the previous portraits I created for the series, I've redefined and refined certain elements to create a more sophisticated and abstract artwork. As I explored the world of experimental pop music, I was drawn to the sounds of female artists like COBRAH, Charli XCX, Shygirl and ROSALIA, whose music allowed me to explore new dimensions of sound and expression.
This portrait represents the culmination of that exploration, featuring explosive and digital elements that capture the essence of my musical journey. At the final exhibition, it was a pleasure to see everyone's reactions and the support I received from friends and colleagues was amazing. It was a moment that I will cherish forever.
Scroll through these images to see some cool shots from the exhibition and thank you to everyone who came out to support me. Your presence and encouragement have made this event a truly special one in my heart.
