Deatheater Butterfly
A part of my "Exotic Pompeii Collection" a series of made up insect illustrations.
Deatheater butterfly
Sanator
Rarity: Seasonally Common
Used by local medicine men for centuries, these butterflies eat dead and infected flesh, while leaving living, health flesh intact. There are many depictions in Pompeii art; of lepers covered in brilliantly colored swarms of the butterflies, crowded tightly around human wounds and infections.
