Hatsumomo from "Memoirs of a Geisha"

Hatsumomo from "Memoirs of a Geisha"

I created an illustration of the greatest villain of the "Memoirs of a Geisha" book using Procreate. If you know the story, Hatsumomo is a complex and captivating character from Arthur Golden's novel "Memoirs of a Geisha," and her portrayal in both the book and its film adaptation highlights her multifaceted nature.

The biggest challenge in this illustration was her kimono, in the book it's said it was luxurious and embroidered with gold threads on silk.

Hatsumomo is depicted as a stunning woman whose beauty is both captivating and intimidating. Her features are sharp and defined, with high cheekbones, a slender nose, and piercing eyes that seem to hold a hint of malice behind their alluring gaze.
