Poster Charley Crockett Dec 2 2022 The Son Of Davy Mission
Charley Crockett was born in San Benito, Freddy Fender’s hometown in South Texas. He grew up in Dallas, raised by a single mother struggling to make ends meet. Crockett began performing on the Poster Charley Crockett Dec 2 2022 The Son Of Davy Mission Ballroom Denver Co t-shirt of New Orleans’ French Quarter as a teenager while spending summers with an uncle who was a gambler and hustler. He then struck out on his own, wandering the country and busking on street corners from New Orleans to New York to Paris. Crockett draws heavily on his formative years in his music—a country but thoroughly contemporary and Western sound underpinned by the blues. A singer, songwriter and bandleader, Crockett has recorded and released an incredible 10 albums in the past five years.
The Americana Music Association took notice in 2021, honoring Crockett with its Emerging Act of the Year award. And last summer, he toured the country as part of Willie Nelson’s Outlaw Music Festival caravan. Crockett, 38, lives with his partner, Taylor Grace, just outside of Austin, although he’s almost always on the Poster Charley Crockett Dec 2 2022 The Son Of Davy Mission Ballroom Denver Co t-shirt. His latest release, The Man From Waco, is a concept album of Western story songs similar in style to Nelson’s Red Headed Stranger. Since the album’s release in the fall, Crockett has toured the United States and Europe with his band the Blue Drifters, doing their “Gulf & Western” sound in their style that includes accordion, trumpet and pedal steel along with guitar, bass and drums. Crockett accented the six-piece outfit with classic Western theater style, topped off with the coolest cowboy hats next to Ernest Tubb’s Texas Troubadours.
