Studying exploration based on Rene Paul Chambellan's works

Chanin Building in New York

I think this is one of the most decorated Art Deco-style buildings in New York and I fell in love immediately with these masterpieces by Rene Paul Chambellan (1893 ~ 1955), an architectural sculptor. We can see his works in many places including the Chicago Tribune Tower, the New York Life Building, Rockefeller Center, and Chanin Building in New York (122 E 42nd Street).

I love his masculine, dynamic composition, and simplified shape with straight lines, and I wish to create my illustrations with this style. This time, as a practice piece, I tried to interpret his works with vivid colors and modern typography, rough grain textures to add atmosphere.

Thank you for seeing it!
