This is the film that introduced the Coen brothers to my cinephile, my first encounter with their offbeat universes illustrating cartoonish characters through their morals, their actions and their systems of thought. The Big Lebowski instilled in me the following idea: we can hang out and be cool. Laziness, in my opinion, is part of the creative process. Doing nothing unconsciously helps recharge our creative batteries. Certainly the character of the dude is an extreme interpretation, but it helps to understand a little our wandering in this world.
