Salmo Veintitrés (Psalm 23)
A Long Journey
After a long journey since I last posted in 2021, I made this graphic to give a rendition of how Christ has led me in my mental health process since then. It also marks the start of many things that will soon be part of my portfolio and social media in 2024.
It all started with severe anxiety (a level three to be exact), and panic attacks. And, in large part, this was the reason I did not have the brains to move forward with either Dribbble or this barely-open IG account that I started in June 2020 (a long time ago).
However, today after 21 therapies throughout a year, a lot of understanding about myself, tons of prayer, and the support of my community, I'm pleased to say that I'm at 70% of my healing process. And the goal remains the same: to learn to fly. That is, an interior freedom, as told by Jacques Phillipe.
In Green Pastures
During the process, I can say that Psalm 23 has been key in each little step, and the light amid darkness and despair. Especially, in the last few months of this journey when God is teaching me to rely on the Good Shepherd.
The journey continues. But as I keep walking and climbing this mountain, learning to live the present, enjoying the little things of each day, I'll share with you what has been given to me as a comm designer for the Catholic Church: prayer, spirituality, mental health, community, and tons of projects that have never seen light in my portfolio.
And to whomever is struggling with anxiety right now: Please, do remember this is only transitory. Just as a desert is in spiritual life. Just as the night before the morning. Just as the storm before the calm. Know that each step, every day, every moment, no matter how small or big, counts.
You're not alone, and this post is a reminder. God is still good 🐑.
