Red Fox

Last month I collaborated with a fellow printmaker on an art show at his studio, where I supplied him with designs, and he printed them. It was a fun challenge, not only create an entire new body of work, but also to push his abilities as a screen printer, with overlays, transparent colors, and gradients. I was afraid that rushing to finish all the designs in time, some would fall flat, but I surprised myself by being excited about them all, up through the last one.

I intended for the overlapping, transparent layers to mix together to create the brown for the line art, but it didn't work out that way in printing. Live and learn.

This fox is 9" x 12" and is a six color print, with one metallic overlay. It's printed on Kraft Gmund Wood Embossed paper.
