Hospitaity webapp
This project consists of a thorough analysis and following redesign of a webapp used by guests of holiday villages and campsites.
Analytics and UX research
The previous version of this webapp lacked a few important features that I discovered through analytics. Following a deep dive on user behaviour, user patterns and ux research, I redesigned the GUI and implemented some new features.
Data showed what users wanted to see, which pages they visited the most and which services they enjoyed best (takeaway, booking tours or activities). Some findings were not surprising, others were unexpected to say the least.
Designing for all users
Since the new GUI might take by surprise our users, an onboarding process is necessary to introduce new features and reassure users that everything they love is still available to them ;)
Also, the design follows accessibility best practices and WCAG guidelines (color contrast, typography, headings).
Testing and next steps
We carried out a usability test to get precious insights and start thinking about next steps. Here are some of the takeaways that we got.
We discovered that the overall navigation is clear and well-structured. Users were able to find all the pages and sections requested in the tasks. Colors, shapes and photos were much appreciated.
Also, content and information on activities and experiences was very useful but sometimes redundant.
Lastly, since we provide food delivery and ordering services, users expected to have other kinds of services available (like renting sports gear or bed linen).
Now it's time to analyze and start planning fixes and explore new features that can enrich even more the UX of our guests.
