Bunny Themed Tarot Deck

Background & Insights

This project began as a bunny themed tarot deck, drawing inspiration from my love for tarot and its deep symbolism.

The goal was to create a full 78-card deck, but as the project progressed I decided to focus on other creative endeavors including client work & expanding my artistic style beyond a bunny theme.

Rather than feeling constrained by completing the entire deck, I chose to release select designs as prints, allowing me to pivot creatively and explore new directions in my work.

I believe that knowing when to shift focus is a valuable part of growth, both as a creator and as a human. 🩷

Three bunny-themed tarot card illustrations titled "The Tower," "The Star," and "The Moon"

The Tower, The Star, & The Moon

The designs were inspired by the spiritual meanings of tarot cards, translated into bunny themed imagery.

⚡️ The Tower represents sudden, transformative change, often seen in tarot as a bolt of lightning that shatters foundations and makes way for something greater. This concept was illustrated with inspiration from the true story of the Golden Buddha, where a clay coating represents fear & comfort zones. The lightning strike reveals our 'golden essence' underneath, signifying personal breakthroughs & liberation.

🌟 The Star is a reminder of the divine guidance always present in our lives. This card emphasises spiritual connection, renewal, and hope.

🌙 The Moon is a card of mystery/intuition, symbolising the unseen and the subconscious. This design was inspired by the idea of inner reflection, representing shadow work & caring for your inner child.

Card Backs (Left) & Key Designs (Right)

I chose specific elements to depict the four traditional tarot suits of cups, wands, swords, & pentacles. Each was carefully selected for its symbolic meaning and connection to both tarot & bunnies.

Strawberries represent Pentacles (earth, richness, abundance) and are loved by bunnies, so I thought they perfectly illustrated the ripeness of nature.

Dandelions were a natural fit for the Swords suit, with their sword-shaped leaves & association with the element of air. I loved the image of the dandelion clock floating in the wind which connected beautifully with the air element.

Teacups represent the Cups suit which symbolises water and emotions, while apple twigs/blossoms were the Wands indicating growth, creativity & the fire element.

On the right are the designs for the Ace of Cups, Three of Cups, Ace of Pentacles & Nine of Pentacles.

Let's Collab!

I’m always excited to explore symbolic & spiritual themes in my work.
