Button States

To get a floating effect on a dark background, you can add a light source on the button that would hit the background, therefore making the background lighter. That then gives you the leeway to add a drop shadow to the button and make it float.

In adjusting the button color on the dark backgrounds to “read” the same as the light backgrounds, I don’t feel I need to adjust the gradient button bgs. They feel like they read the same on either background.
