Martyr Made Podcast Rebrand

The Martyr Made Podcast is a long-form history podcast (in the tradition of Hardcore History and History on Fire) hosted by the remarkable Darryl Cooper.

The Martyr Made Podcast tells the stories of real people who made history and the situations that shaped them. With a 4.9 star rating out of almost 7,000 reviews (across Apple and Spotify), and a vibrant Substack following – Darryl has caught the attention of huge podcasters like Joe Rogan and Jocko Willink.

Fruitful was honored to work with Darryl to completely revamp his podcast graphic and overall visual branding to better match the tone of this fascinating content.

The Boxer at Rest

The all new visual branding for the Martyr Made podcast is based on a famous bronze sculpture from around 150 BC called The Boxer at Rest. Martyr Made's host Darryl Cooper loved the melancholy expression of this statue, and felt it visually exemplifies the overall feeling of his history podcast – which often deals with the most difficult aspects of human nature and history.

The Fruitful team explored many different designs and styles for the branding – but arrived at a very strong, stark, black/white/red, illustrated design that complements the subject matter of the podcast well. We also created a custom logotype to accompany the illustrative mark, as well as a simple monogram that can be used in more constrained contexts.
