OLINQUA – Kiosk UI Animation

Role: Motion Designer

Client & Tasks

Client: Olinqua

Agency: simpl.

The main task was to create UI animation for the digital kiosk to show users how to properly use the RFID duress tag with the kiosk.

Challenge

The predominant issue was that users treated the tag like a card – tapped into the kiosk's reader very quickly and in a random position.

The goal of the animation was to inform and caution users about the tag's sensitivity to tapping and to instruct them to be more precise by placing the tag in the correct position and holding it for a slightly longer duration than the card.

Solution

To begin, I brainstormed several concepts and sketched out an initial storyboard. We then underwent three rounds of revisions before moving on to the animation phase.

Throughout the animation process, I presented various options for the movement style, incorporated feedback from the client, and refined the final version.

Final deliverables

Upon approval of the final version, I rendered the animation in three different formats (MOV, MP4 and PNG sequence), ensuring its adaptability for the kiosk.
