    The Swope Park Rangers brand identity is closely tied to parent company Sporting Club and MLS team Sporting Kansas City. SPR's name originated with Sporting Kansas City’s reserve team in 2008. SPR officially joined USL as the leagues 30th franchise and will begin play in 2016.
