Atobá Design developed premium fiber packaging for Ginga Hair (@gingahair). To do this, we delve into the symbols that communicate the important and representative Afro culture in Brazil. Serving the market of more than one million beauty salons, Ginga Hair has 100% national production and offers a high quality product for braiders and their clients.
There were 03 reusable TNT packaging, bags in two sizes, and the graphic design of the straps and soles, with creation of layout, graphics, and technical specification for graphic production, ensuring the printing of all pieces.
The incredible illustration that makes up the packaging was made in partnership with Christiano Flexa (@christianoflexa)
We did an analysis of competitors and with that we understood what was important for the segment and how we could innovate without losing the product's identity.
First, we define a list of requirements and constraints to guide our creation. We chose to work with illustrations, patterns and icons, as all the competitors worked with photos. On the shelf or in the establishment, the packages were hung, so we had to develop cuts/handles to hang the product. The material should avoid/reduce the use of plastics. It should be resistant and inviolable.
Three patterns were developed to represent the fibers and the target audience. All very contrasting and colorful. The icons were designed with easy identification and visual information in mind. The illustration replaces standard stock photos, giving the packaging more originality. The technical plan for all packaging was developed.
In the end, there were 3 reusable TNT packaging, with different sizes and shapes. All with a visor for visual exposure of the product, but it is tamper-proof. The bags have the brand's visual identity printed on them. We use straps and soles to compose the packaging with information about the product.
We also created a packaging model in box format for the launch of the premium fiber. We develop the technical plant for rapid assembly and storage of the product.
