The idea ...

After investing all that time and effort, I've decided to turn my resume into a template for sale — helping people save time or serving as inspiration for their next moodboard 😀

Unforeseen Consequences ...

Little did I know that turning a Figma file into a template usable by everyone would be a bigger challenge than anticipated. Making it into a compelling product also meant the scope expanded.

Making it friendly ...

Creating a Figma template for people who have never used Figma before was not easy! Having instructions with illustrations really helped.

I minimized the user input needed to the bare minimum—just fill in the designated field and let the template do the work. Then, export—it's that easy!

"Am I bad in ... Gmail ? "

After numerous user tests, it became evident that defining contact information was more confusing than other sections.

My original intention was to prioritize/categorize using stars.

However, users perceived it as a rating for skills.

I resolved the issue by removing the star system.

What's in the box ?

Resume (2 versions), cover letter, professional references, business cards.

And 6 extras documents to help in your job search.

All of this in 9 languages without forgetting the instructions.

Utilizing founderpal.ai helped me quickly establish a persona for this 'small' project.

It provided valuable insights for highlighting selling points, complemented by benchmarks from similar successful product pages.

Mockup time ...

If you're selling something familiar make it surprising

For the mockup style, I opted for a dark theme to stand out from the typical light-themed crowd.

My conclusion

I jumped into this project thinking it'd be a quick ride, but boy, was I in for a surprise! It ended up being quite the adventure, with twists and turns.

Despite the unexpected journey, I stuck with it, and now, at the finish line, I can say I've picked up a bunch of valuable insights and knowledge. What a ride!
