Selected Malts — ZIPPIN Smoke

To showcase my latest design for Selected Malts I decided to make myself a nice little challenge by going out and make my own HDRI and backplate, albeit a very simple and not very hi-tech HDRI....I used Google Streetview app.

But for my purpose this worked great. I'm not after perfection here, I'm looking for realism.

So the main lighting is coming mostly from the HDRI but I also added softboxes to

bring out the label a bit more and then positioned the 3D bottle on the backplate right where I had planned it when I took the photos. The depth of field (DoF) was added in the Corona Camera in Cinema 4D, the original backplate photo have no DoF.

I think it all came out pretty great and it's looking more

like a real photograph then a 3D render, just like I had intended 😁
