Fureshti - website for a language school

About

This is a simple and clean website design for my friend's language school.

Name and brand

I started working on this project by brainstorming the name and branding. In the Istrian dialect, "furešti" means foreigners, and it can sometimes have a negative connotation—especially as an increasing number of people from third-world countries move to Croatia in search of work and better living conditions. As this is the first time something like this is happening in the country's history, there are two sides. Some believe it is positive, advocating acceptance and integration, while others are less inclined towards "foreigners". Therefore, the goal of this language school would be to reinvent the word, creating the first proud generation of integrated individuals by providing valuable, first-hand insights into Croatian language and culture.

Visual identity

Regarding the visual identity, I aimed for a clean design with vibrant colors capturing the essence of the Mediterranean lifestyle. When envisioning the Mediterranean and Istria, a region in Croatia where the language school would be centrally located, memories of spending fantastic summer days emerge. Traveling through the Istrian peninsula, relaxing on the beach with amazing friends and even better food, and driving home at day's end, content and fulfilled. This sentiment is what I intended to convey to the viewer. However, I also wanted the design to be organized, serious, and trustworthy to attract clients.

Final desing

Here is the final design. The website is straightforward, a one-page layout providing all the essential information for the user.

And here's the video of the interactions.
